This package also includes Gorilla trek in Virunga and Nyiragongo hike but the only difference is that for it you stay at Mikeno lodge.
You will stay for two nights at Mikeno and one at the top of the Volcano. This package departs from Goma at 11:00am only on Friday.
Day1: Cross Barriere border.
Early in the morning at 10:00am cross border and ensure to check in at Virunga office by 11:00am. At the office, staff will provide you with the Gorilla and Nyiragongo hike permit you must present before the trek.
After check-in, you will be transferred up to Mikeno lodge in Rumangabo. Check in at the lodge for lunch, relaxation or explore nearby natural trials or visit the Congo hounds.
Day2: Gorilla Trek at Bukima.
Early in the morning after breakfast transfer to Bukima Ranger post to meet the ranger guides. A briefing is first conducted and after the trekking starts in a group.
You will wander in the Jungle for some good time until you discover their location. One hour is allowed in their presence and after return to Bukima camp where you are transported from up to Mikeno Lodge for some relaxation.
Day3: Hike Nyiragongo up to the top.
Early in the morning at 8:15am tourists are transported to Kibati Ranger post, the starting point for a rewarding journey to the top of Nyiragongo. Guests are first briefed, hire porters and get all necessities. Later the Journey starts and you will be at the summit in the evening. It takes about six to seven hours.
Day4: Return back to Kibati.
After beautiful moments at the top, early in the morning you will descend back up to Kibati. From Kibati you are transported up to Goma border for the drive back to Kigali. End of Safari in DR Congo.
